In 2003, C.J. Ettelson became the 14th athlete in the history of Iowa High School wrestling to win a fourth State title.
Along with friend Mack Reiter, they became the first pair to win four times simultaneously. C.J. went on to wrestle for the University of Northern Iowa and now calls New York City his home. We talked about growing up in a wrestling family, the state titles, and the lessons learned that he applies to his life every day.
Got something to say? Go for it!

What a great and inspirational story! Such a nice tribute to your family. I am a 1986 graduate of Hudson High School. C.J.’s brother Jon was in my class and his Dad was one of my teachers. I do not know C.J., but sure enjoyed watching this segment and learning of his accomplishments! Hudson was a great place to grow up!

What a class act and a great role model. They should show this interview to all young athletes in all sports as an example of the right way to do things.
Awesome interview! I am posting this to my FB page! I remember these guys CJ and Charlie from my hs wrestling days at summer tournaments. Really nice guys and always some of the best in the country, not just iowa.
